Melissa A. Tannehill is the founding owner of Tannehill Law, LLC. Melissa represents clients in real estate transactions, business planning, and estate planning.

Prior to starting her own firm, Melissa gained extensive knowledge in real estate, business planning, and estate planning by working in the financial services industry for over 14 years. Melissa previously worked for two large financial institutions,  working with high net worth clients, their families, and small to mid sized businesses to provide guidance on their banking and lending needs. Melissa’s financial services experience has provided her thorough knowledge of banking and lending and the importance it plays in real estate transactions, family estate planning, and running a small business.

Melissa gained litigation experience as a consumer litigation attorney representing clients in both State and Federal Court along with AAA Arbitration, protecting consumers against lenders under national consumer protection laws. Melissa is federally admitted in five jurisdictions and has practiced nationwide.

In addition to practicing law, Melissa also invests in real estate, buying and holding investment properties in Chicago, Illinois. With experience as a real estate investor, Melissa understands the various aspects that investors experience and is better equipped to provide personal and professional guidance to her business clients.

Melissa serves on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois and is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Professional Women’s Club of Chicago.
